“Strike Steel” Ceremony for the TRAktor 3200-V Tugboats being built in Indonesia

On April 15, 2020, the “strike steel” ceremony for the TRAktor 3200-V tugboats was held at the builders, PT. Graha Trisaka Industri, in Batam, Indonesia.
The two tugs were ordered by the China Petroleum Cooperation (CPC), of Taiwan. The shipyard, with support from Robert Allan Ltd., was awarded the construction contract by CPC following an international bid process. The custom designed tugs will operate at the CPC LNG terminal at Shenao in Taiwan after delivery.
The TRAktor V design by Robert Allan Ltd. applies to Voith-propelled tugs designed for harbour, offshore terminal, or tanker escort duties.
The new tug is designed to comply with the Chinese Classification Society with the notation CR100+E Tug, Fire-Fighting Ship 1, Coastal Service CMS+.
