Coastal Towing
Tugs for coastal barge towing (line-haul) work require a very different form and layout than do those for ship-handling work.
The emphasis is on sustained pulling power and good seakeeping, with a focus on safe handling of the towing gear over the stern.
Coastal towing tug designs are classified as the TRAder series, in its manifold configurations.
