Investing In the Next Generation of Talent
Ahoy, future ship-shapers!
Here at Robert Allan, we’re passionate about bringing on Canada’s top students of Naval Architecture and Mechanical/Marine Engineering and creating meaningful learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. Did we mention, the in-depth exposure of designing real ships?
We are committed to fostering student growth through our rotating work-term opportunities and, on occasion, extending opportunities to promising students from overseas.
Our high-performance culture emphasizes mentorship, accountability, and continuous learning, giving students the opportunity to build real-world skills while making waves. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside driven professionals, gain practical skills, and contribute to seaworthy projects.

Pursuing a Career in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
Robert Allan Ltd. actively encourages interested students in the pursuit of a career in ship design or construction. It is however not a subject taught widely in Canada and we are frequently asked for advice with regard to the institutions and choices available for post-secondary education. Listed below are the universities and colleges with which we are most familiar. Please note that the information given here is by no means a complete list of the options available to Canadian students. There are also many fine undergraduate and graduate programs in the United States and the United Kingdom. It is the students’ obligation to ensure that the program of study chosen meets the requirements for registration in the Professional Association in the area where the student would ultimately wish to practice. In British Columbia this would be the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC. For more information please visit www.egbc.ca.
